The Axminster Professional SD410T Thicknesser delivers outstanding precision and consistency, making it an excellent choice for demanding thicknessing work. Its 97mm spiral cutting block houses 72 knives, producing an exceptionally smooth finish while offering a significantly longer service life than traditional HSS blades. When an edge eventually dulls, simply rotate the cutter insert 90° using the supplied Torx driver - tighten, and you’re straight back to work. There’s no resetting, no downtime, and no waiting for blades to be sharpened. Spiral cutterblocks also run more quietly and with far less vibration.
Built from heavy-duty cast iron and steel, the SD410T Thicknesser provides long-term stability and vibration-free operation. The column-supported table ensures consistent accuracy, while the digital gauge allows fast, precise adjustments.
Driven by a powerful 4kW motor, the cutterblock runs at 4,200rpm and feeds material at 6.5m/min for a clean, refined finish. Designed to handle large workpieces with ease, the machine includes a 348mm rear extension table for added support. With a maximum planing width of 410mm and a maximum depth of cut of 5mm, it has the capacity to remove stock efficiently and reliably.
Dust extraction is handled through a 120mm outlet that can be positioned on either the left or right, offering flexibility in tight workshop layouts. An airflow of 1,800 m³/h is required to maintain a clean, safe workspace. The machine operates on 400V.
