The Axminster Professional SD410SPT Planer Thicknesser is 
designed to produce exceptional results, day in, day out and is 
ideal for those who are doing joinery or cabinetry work. Its spiral 
cutting block uses 44 knives, producing an ultra smooth finish and 
offering a far longer service life than traditional HSS blades. With 
this design, planing ripple is virtually eliminated. When an edge 
eventually dulls, simply rotate the cutter 90° with the supplied 
Torx driver - tighten, and you’re back to work. There’s no resetting, 
no downtime, and no waiting for sharpened blades to return. 
Spiral blocks also run quieter and with significantly reduced 
vibration.
Heavy-duty cast iron and steel construction ensures long-term 
stability and vibration-free operation, providing a solid foundation 
for accurate, consistent results. The heavy-duty aluminium fence 
offers stable, reliable support for precise work, with quick 
adjustments to 90° and 45°. Switching between jointing and 
thicknessing is fast and intuitive thanks to the single-lift tables, 
which rise together in one smooth, effortless motion. Finely 
ground cast-iron tables ensure accuracy on every pass and the 
generous 2,080 mm table length also offers excellent support for 
longer workpieces.
Adjustments are straightforward: the digital height gauge makes 
adjustments simple, while a viewing window in the feed table 
allows easy monitoring during operation.
Powered by a robust 4 kW motor, the cutterblock spins at 
5,500rpm, feeding material at 7m/min for a consistent, clean and 
smooth finish. The SD410SPT Planer Thicknesser handles a wide 
range of tasks with its 410 mm planing width and 225 mm 
thicknessing height capacity. The maximum depth of cut when 
planing is 4 mm, whilst the maximum depth of cut for thicknessing 
is 3 mm.
The dust is managed via a 120mm outlet, requiring 815 m³/h 
airflow to maintain a clean and safe working environment. The 
machines operations on 415V.
